1st International Conference (Virtual Mode) on “Simulation, Automation & Smart Manufacturing (SASM 2021)” Organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering on 20-21 August 2021
The first edition of the two-day Scopus Indexed IEEE International Conference (Virtual Mode) on Simulation, Automation & Smart Manufacturing (SASM 2021) was successfully organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering of GLA University on 20-21 August. The Conference was technically sponsored by IEEE U.P. Section (record no. 51857). This conference theme was set on “Simulation, Automation & Smart Manufacturing”, and planned to further explore machine learning, IoT, mechatronics & robotics, Artificial Intelligence in the manufacturing process, and grid integration of renewable energy.
The conference was inaugurated on 20th August by the Chief Guest of the conference Prof. MP Poonia, Vice chairman, of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, and Guest of honor Mr. Deepak Gadhia, Chairman of Sunrise CSP India Pvt. Ltd., Vadodara, Gujrat Founder of Gadhia Solar Energy System Pvt. Ltd. Co-Founder of Excellent Renewable Pvt. Ltd.(ERPL), Guest of honor Mr. Madhur Gupta, Chief Executive Officer of Hero Steels Limited, Hero Group, Guest of Honor Mr. Gaurav Luthra, Managing Director of Kaulmed Private Limited, Prof. Phalguni Gupta, Vice Chancellor GLA University Mathura.
The day took off with a scintillating message in the form of an introduction of the theme by the Convener of the Conference, Dr. Vijay Kumar Dwivedi.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Phalguni Gupta, welcomed the gathering and addressed them with a motivational words that such types of International Conferences would benefit not only the members present here, but the Industry, academics, and researchers as a whole.
The Organizing Chair, Prof. Piyush Singhal welcomed and introduced the Guests of the conferences.

The program was divided into 16 parallel sessions in which 131 papers were selected in different streams on the basis of two levels of blind reviews process from 345 papers received by researchers from different provinces of the country. Out of these five papers have been received from IITs / 15 from NITs, three papers from abroad, and 20 from Central Universities. The papers presented address various types of research including science, engineering and technology, environment, and society. All papers will be published in Scopus Index IEEE Journal and Conference Proceedings.
The conference valedictory session was organized on 21st August. Prof. Anirudh Pradhan, Dean of Research & Development, GLA University Mathura, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Dr. Vijay Kumar Dwivedi gave a crisp summary of the conference followed by the Vote of Thanks by Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Gupta. The delegates have taken significant inputs out of this conference. With efforts from GLA University Management, faculty members, and delegates, the conference was a great success in meeting its objectives.
